MTB tours

The following tour proposals are laid out as day trips between 4 to 6 hours and demand an average personal state of training. The actual travel time amounts to roughly 3 hours. We hope you will like the tours we propose.

Marksburg Castle in Braubach

Castle Tour (guided MTB. tour)
The tour takes us along the Rhine to Braubach with the Marksburg castle in full view. At Braubach, a romantic little town in the Rhine valley, we will leave our bike to get on the “Bimmelbahn”(little train)which will comfortly drive us up to the Marksburg castle. After this cultural part of visiting the Marksburg, we will return to our bike and continue our tour though the Schlierbachtal valley to the “Hof Aspich” a former farm. After refreshing break on the beer garden
we drive downhill to the valley and return to starting point of the castle tour.

Lahneck Tour (guided MTB. tour)
Only a few kilometers upstream the Lahn we will leave the tow path and enter an exiting romantic valley which takes us to the peak point of the tour:
the Forsthaus with a beer garden and a small zoological garden. After a short brake and being refreshed, the tour continues through wooded paths toward Lahnstein a.d. Höhe and than through fields and meadows to the imposing Lahneck castle which are going to visit. There, from the beer garden you will have a breathtaking view on the Rhine valley and this at the same time will impressively round off the Lahneck – tour. Return trip to the starting point.

Canoe Tour (guided MTB. tour)
The tour will start at the historic and ancient town of Lahnstein and then pass by the Martinschloss upstream the Rhine. From one of the valleys ahead Braubach, we will bike through the woods to the Spießborn and thence travel on the Lahn valley and canoes to sail at ease down stream the Lahn. At the so-called Schleusenhäuschen there is a possibility for a few refreshments. Transfer the bikes and return to the starting point of the canoe tour.

Silver Tour
This tour is coined by partially open cast mining. We will drive upstream the Lahn and turn off into the Erzbachtal which will lead us through Lahnstein forest to the Forsthaus. After the break in the beer garden we ride on the former narrow gauge railway line towards Braubach.
There, we shall visit the only never destroyed Marksburg castle in the central Rhine valley.
Passing through the ancient town we will return to Lahnstein past the pictures Martinschloss castle.
